Red Deer, AB - The Kootenay ICE (12-42-7-3) begin its final road trip of the 2018-19 regular season against the Red Deer Rebels (32-25-4-2) on Saturday, March 9.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

The ICE are coming off of a 7-0 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on March 5. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 28-of-35 shots. The Wheat Kings received two goals from Luka Burzan, two goals from Baron Thompson and singles from Connor Gutenberg, Ridly Greig and Stelio Mattheos. Goaltender Jiri Patera blocked all 29 shots for the shutout. The ICE were outshot 35-29. They went 0-for-1 on the power play, 5-for-5 on the penalty kill and won 24-of-60 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 32 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The Red Deer Rebels continue a three-game homestand when they host the Kootenay ICE on Saturday, March 9. The Rebels are in the middle of a heated playoff race with the Medicine Hat Tigers and Brandon Wheat Kings for the two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference. The Rebels play eight games in the month of March, tonight is the fourth. Heading into tonight's game, the Rebels are fourth in the Central Division and seventh in the Eastern Conference.
