Knoxville, TN - The Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Fayetteville FireAntz, 5-3 in front of a energized crowd of 3927.

Francis Drolethad two goals to lead the Ice Bears to victory. Drolet's tallies came at 12:39 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Knoxville and 10:52 into the third to make the score 4-2 Knoxville.

Knoxville stifled Fayetteville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 41 shots on target during the contest, the Ice Bears exceeded the 19.1 shots they average per game this year.

Knoxville additionally got points from Power, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points andJason Price, who also had one goal and one assist.Eric Satimalso scored for Knoxville. In addition, Knoxville received assists fromRyan Salvis, who had two.

The FireAntz were led byJosh McQuade, who racked up two goals. McQuade scored the first of his two goals at 13:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Knoxville. McQuade's next tally made the score 3-2 Knoxville with 14:11 left in the third period. Fayetteville also got a goal fromMatt Robertsonas well. Horrigan recorded 36 saves for Fayetteville. The FireAntz totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For Fayetteville, McQuade was ejected from the game.

The Knoxville Ice Bears will return to action Friday, March 13th for awful night and Saturday, March 14th when the pay homage to the Nashville Predators, special guest GNASH will be in attendance.
