
Ice Bears Charm Snakes 6-1

A 5-day break didn't hinder the Knoxville Ice Bears from overwhelming the Columbus Cottonmouths in front of a packed house. The Ice Bears defeated the Cottonmouths 6-1 to bring their record to 15-11-1 for the season.
Columbus is second in the league in away penalty killing, but Ice Bears Kevin Harris proved too much with a goal and an assist in the first. Columbus Goalie Ian Viger faced 16 shots in the first alone due to five penalties, including a major for fighting that ejected Cottonmouth Sam Bowles from the game.
The crowd of 4,014 witnessed the next generation of Ice Bears as the Knoxville Amateur Hockey Association teams played during the first intermission.
The second period brought more penalties- 11, including another Cottonmouths ejection, this time head coach Jerome Bechard. Ice Bears Swider, Pelkey and Bulawka all put the puck in the net. Cottonmouths managed to score on an Ice Bears penalty to end the second period with a score of 5-1.
In his first game as an Ice Bear, Mike Kneeland had an assist on Bulawaka's second goal of the night. Cottonmouths racked up more penalties and another player ejection. The Ice Bears begin their three-night home stand with a win against the Columbus Cottonmouths 6-1.
