Ice Bears Challenged by Ice Flyers

KNOXVILLE, TENN - The #3 seeded Pensacola Ice Flyers have challenged the #5 seeded Knoxville Ice Bears in the Challenge Round of the 2018 SPHL President's Cup playoffs.
The Ice Bears will travel to Pensacola, Florida on Thursday, April 12th to open the series before returning to Knoxville on Saturday, April 14th for their only home game of the series. Due to scheduling conflicts, the third game of the series, should it be needed, will be played at the Pelham Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Puck drop for Saturday's game will be 7:35pm.
The Ice Bears went 1-3-0 in four meetings with the Ice Flyers this season, taking their only win in a 9-round shootout victory on the last night of the regular season. Pensacola finished the regular season with a 33-16-7 record (73 points), just 7 points ahead of Knoxville's 30-20-6 season.
