St. Cloud River Bats News Release
(St. Cloud, MN) Jon Hansen emerged from the dugout to remove Matt Iannazzo after 7.2 innings of one run ball. However, after striking out the first two batters of the eighth, Iannazzo wanted to sit down one more hitter.
Matt summoned the strength after a 100 pitches to strike out Kevin Kuntz to end the inning. This final out would help secure Iannazzo his fourth win of the season.
Derek Campbell brought home both Bats runs to give him 12 RBI's on the season. Both Bats runs came in the form of Carlos Lopez.
A pitcher's duel between Iannazzo and Duluth's Tyler KIng dominated the majority of the game. In the sixth inning, Lopez led off with a double. Following a sacrifice by C.J. Gillman, Campbell smacked a single to give the Bats a 1-0 advantage.
Duluth tied it an inning later. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Mike Bisenius scored Brian Hansen and knotted the game at one.
The scoreboard remained deadlocked until the bottom of the eighth. Lopez once again kicked of the frame with bang, this time a hard hit single. Campbell once again knocked home his fellow Californian with a one bagger.
