Hustler Play of the Week: Daniel Martin
After stringing together several impressive performances over the past few series' on home ice, the Danville Dashers are proud to announce that Daniel Martin has been selected as this week's Hustler Player of the Week!
Martin has put up fantastic numbers over the past two weeks in series against the Port Huron Prowlers, and the Carolina Thunderbirds. In the homestand that was spread out over the past two weekends, Martin averaged a team-leading 2.8 Points per game, averaging 1 goal and nearly two assists per game, with his peak performance coming in a five-point performance (2 goals, 3 assists) in an 8-5 win over the Prowlers.
Martin has 40 points on the season, which is tied for the team-high with fellow forward Justin Brausen. In 34 appearances, Martin has tallied up 16 goals and 24 assists. Of those 16 goals, Martin has contributed three short-handed goals, two game-winning goals, and one short-handed goal.
Last year in the FHL, Martin contributed 24 points in 47 total appearances, and has shown great improvement and development so far this season, and at just 22 years old, looks to be a vital piece of this resurgent Danville Dashers team.
The Hustler player of the week will be named each week, earlier on next week, and will showcase the very best total performance from the weekend's games.
