Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Island Storm 104-76 in game two of NBL Canada playoff action May 6th, at the Scotiabank Centre. Hurricanes lead the 5 game series, 2-0.
Hurricanes led the Island Storm at the end of the first quarter 21-14. In the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Storm 30-23, and the Hurricanes lead 51-37 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Storm 25-24. The Hurricanes outscored the Storm 28-15 in the final quarter, enough to give them the victory; The final score of the game was 104-76.
Guard, Shane Gibson led the Hurricanes with 24 points. Guard, Joel Friesen scored 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 13 points. Forward, Billy White scored 12 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 12 points. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales scored 11 points.
Guard, Terry Thomas led the Storm with 16 points. Guard, Rashad Whack scored 15 points. Guard, Al Stewart scored 9 points. Forward, Brian Addison scored 8 points.
Halifax Hurricanes lead 2-0 in the series and will play game three on Sunday May 8th at the Eastlink Centre.
