London Lightning News Release
(ORANGEVILLE, Ontario) - Friday night at the Athlete Institute in Orangeville, the London Lightning beat the Orangeville A's 132-125 in Game 3 of their first round playoff series.
The Lightning win the best-of-five series 3-0.
Akeem Scott was unstoppable, scoring 39 points to lead all scorers and adding eight assists.
Veteran Garrett Williamson added 22 points while Stephen Maxwell had his second double-double of the post season (21 points, 10 rebounds). Nick Okorie also added 12 points and eight assists. Ryan Anderson added a spark to the game with 15 points and 5 rebounds.
"It wasn't going well for us for most of the night, but they trusted the game plan, they stuck together. And like we've been doing all month long, (we got) huge fourth quarters from different guys making big time plays," said coach Kyle Julius.
"I'm impressed with that group in there. I'm impressed with their togetherness, I'm impressed with their toughness, and I'm really, really impressed with how excited they are for each other, and it's special to be able to coach that and I think we're going to have some success because of it."
The Lightning move on to face the Windsor Express in the second round of the NBLC Playoffs. Second round dates will be announced shortly.
