Hurricanes to Pick 2nd in US Priority Draft

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Western Hockey League held the 2021 US Priority Draft Lottery on Thursday and the Lethbridge Hurricanes will select second overall.

In addition to the second overall pick, the Hurricanes will also hold the 43rd overall pick in the two-round snake draft. The 'Canes selected two players in the inaugural US Prospects Draft in 2020 when they picked Nathan Tobey (10th overall) and Riley Bassen (35th overall).

The 2021 US Prospects Draft will take place on December 8th, 2021; the day before the WHL Prospects Draft, which the Hurricanes hold the 17th overall selection.

The first round order of selection for the 2021 US Prospects Draft is as follows:

3) Winnipeg ICE

4) Prince George Cougars

5) Saskatoon Blades
