
Hurricanes Recall Mike Murphy from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that goaltender Mike Murphy has been recalled from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). He is expected to serve as backup goaltender tonight for Carolina's preseason game at Buffalo (7 p.m., Hurricanes Radio Network).
The Carolina Hurricanes open their 2013-14 season on October 4 at PNC Arena against the Detroit Red Wings.
