Hurricanes Recall Brett Pesce from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Brett Pesce from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Pesce will join the Hurricanes in Los Angeles for Friday's game against the Kings at STAPLES Center.

Pesce, 20, has scored one goal and earned two assists (3 points) in three games with Charlotte this season. The Tarrytown, NY, native is in his first full professional season after completing a three-year career at the University of New Hampshire with 43 points (11g, 32a) in 110 games. Pesce (6'3", 200 lbs.) was selected by the Hurricanes in the third round (66th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, and made his professional debut with Charlotte in April, notching one assist in four games.
