
Hurricanes Defeat Miracles

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Moncton Miracles 108-101 in NBLC action December 29th, at the Moncton Coliseum. After suffering their first loss of the season on December 27th at the Harbour Station against the Mill Rats, with this win the Hurricanes are 2-1.
Hurricanes trailed the Miracles at the end of the first quarter 31-17, after an onslaught of three pointers made by the Miracles. In the second quarter the Hurricanes gained a lead, after pushing the ball in transition prevailed - the Hurricanes continued to attack the basket.
Forward, Mike Glover led the hurricanes coming off the bench and sparking the run to end the second quarter. At half Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes with 13 points, Glover added 12 and Shane Gibson with 10 points.
In the third quarter both clubs exchanged leads, at the end of the quarter Moncton led 74-71. Halifax Hurricanes outscored the Miracles 37-27 in the final quarter. The final score of the game was 108-101, Hurricanes win.
Mike Glover led all scorers with 25 points while grabbing 7 rebounds. Justin Johnson ended the game with 21 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 16 points. Forward, Billy White added 14 points. Forward, Kyle Hunt ended with 13 points. Tydran Beaty led the Moncton Miracles with 21 points.
The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm on Thursday December 31st at the Eastlink Centre, the last matchup of the three game road trip.
