London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, Ontario) - Tuesday evening, in front of 2,536 fans at Budweiser Gardens, the London Lightning defeated the Windsor Express, 95-79.
The Lightning improve to 2-1.
"I'm pleased that we bounced back from a really rough game in Niagara," said head coach Kyle Julius. "We were able to get some of our younger guys some minutes and it was a great team effort."
"I feel like we came out with a lot of intensity. We played really hard and we stuck to the game plan. There were things we could have worked on, but at the end of it all, we pulled out a win," said Stephen Maxwell, who led all scorers Tuesday with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Chad Posthumus and Tyshawn Patterson both scored 15 points and Patterson also led in rebounding with eight. Jordan Weidner had 14 points.
The Lightning will play back to back games at home this weekend, facing the Orangeville A's on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and the Windsor Express on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday also marks the Lightning's annual boys high school Charity Roundball Tournament.
Tickets are available through the Budweiser Gardens Box Office, or by visiting www.budweisergardens.com.
