
Huntsville wins second consecutive over Asheville

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Brad McDonald had a goal and an assist as the Huntsville Havoc beat the Asheville Aces 5-2 in front of 2,822 fans Friday night. The Havoc beat the Aces 6-5 in shootout on Thursday night in Asheville.
James Patterson scored two goals, one an empty net goal and the other the game winner. Aaron Lewis and Tim Plett also scored goals. Mike Utzig had two assists while Jeff Dams, Doug Merrell and Dan Buccella all had one each.
Jan Kentos scored a powerplay goal and Joel Petkoff scored a shorthanded goal for Asheville while Chad Brandimore and Chris Ferguson had assists.
Matt Carmichael got his sixth win of the season by stopping 34 of 36 shots. Mark Scally took the loss stopping 34 of 38.
Huntsville was 0-6 on the powerplay and Asheville was 1-5. The game saw only 13 penalties called for a total of 32 minutes.
