Huntsville wins in overtime

HUNTSVILLE, AL - James Patterson scored with 1:40 left in overtime to give the Huntsville Havoc a 4-3 win over the Knoxville Ice Bears. It was the second night in a row Huntsville beat Knoxville in extra time, winning in a shootout last night.

Knoxville got on the board first when Kevin Swider found the back of the net on a powerplay with 5:23 left in the first period.

Jason deGuehery tied the game three minutes later when he scored his first goal of the season.

Knoxville retook the lead just 2:11 into the second period on a Marcus Forsberg goal.

Huntsville tied the game at 2-2 on a Chris Peach goal less than one minute later.

Luke Phillips gave the Havoc a 3-2 lead 1:51 into the third period before K.J. Voorhees tied the game with 2:47 left in the game on a powerplay goal.

Matt Carmichael had 31 saves in the win, Ryan Person had 44 saves for Knoxville.

Patterson was named the first star of the game with his first goal of the season and two assists. Peach was the second star and deGuehery was the third star.
