Huntsville to hold '100 Years Of Flight' Game Friday Against North Charleston

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., January 29, 2003 – The Huntsville Flight will hold its salute to the year-long celebration of "100 Years of Flight" Friday (Jan. 31) during its National Basketball Development League game against the North Charleston Lowgators. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Highlighting the evening will be the presence of a reproduction of the Quick monoplane -- the first plane flown in the state of Alabama -- made possible by The University of Alabama in Huntsville student branch. In addition, model airplanes will be on display at the VBC, courtesy of the North Alabama Model Airplane Society.

The game is one of the Flight's Youth Uniform series with the first 1,000 youngsters 14 and under receiving mini-basketballs courtesy of Schlotzsky's Deli and Sprite.

Fridays are Family Four Pack nights with the Flight at the VBC where a family of four can receive four tickets, four sodas, four hot dogs/hamburgers and four popcorns for $40. Also, it is a Sprite 2-for-1 night with those who bring in a Sprite label or bottle can receive one free admission with one paid.

The game is being presented by WAFF TV 48, Schlotzsky's Boeing, NASA, Sprite and Corr Wireless.
