Reid to Dazzle and Eldridge to Lowgators

GREENVILLE, S.C. (January 29, 2003) - Two National Basketball Development League teams made player moves today, according to an announcement by league Executive Director Karl Hicks. The Roanoke Dazzle acquired guard Larry Reid, while the North Charleston Lowgators added guard Courtney Eldridge.

To make room on the rosters, Roanoke waived forward Gabe Muoneke and North Charleston released guard Ty Shine.

Reid returns to the NBDL after beginning the season with North Charleston. He played in 24 games (no starts) with the Lowgators before leaving the team two weeks ago for personal reasons. Reid averaged 18.4 minutes, 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game with North Charleston.

Eldridge played collegiately at North Carolina-Greensboro ('02), where he averaged 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game as a senior.. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Boston (Thayer Academy) native most recently played with the BABC All-Stars touring team, playing exhibition games against college teams.

Muoneke played in eight games, starting seven for the Dazzle, after being acquired on Jan. 6. He averaged 32.4 minutes, 21.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Shine, acquired by the Lowgators Jan. 17, averaged 12.8 minutes, 4.0 points, 0.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists over six games (no starts) with North Charleston.

Eldridge is expected to play when North Charleston visits Huntsville Friday and will wear jersey number 14 for the Lowgators. Reid will join the Dazzle in time to play Sunday at Columbus and will be assigned a jersey number later this week.
