HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc went 2-1 over the weekend picking up a road win in Fayetteville and a home win over Mississippi and dropping just their fourth regulation loss on the road to the FireAntz. The Havoc remain in first place, four points ahead of Mississippi.

Thursday, January 7 - Huntsville 6, Fayetteville 2

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Dennis Sicard recorded a hat-trick as the Huntsville Havoc won the first of two games at the Fayetteville FireAntz 6-2 Thursday night.

Ray Ortiz, Jeff White and Mike Carter also added goals for the Havoc. Nick Monroe added two assists while White, Ortiz, Carter, Adam Lukacovic, Jason Hill, Mike MacDonald and Justin Rohr all had one.

Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn and Emery Olauson scored for the FireAntz.

Mark Sibbald made 31 saves to get the win while Guy St. Vincent made 33 in the loss.

Sicard now has 15 goals and seven assists on the season. His previous career high was 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) with the Richmond Renegades in 2007-08.

Friday, January 8 - Huntsville 1, Fayetteville 6

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Huntsville Havoc suffered just their fourth regulation loss of the season with a 6-1 setback on the road at Fayetteville.

Mark Sibbald took his first regulation loss of the season when allowed four goals in the first period before being replaced by Dan McWhinney.

Mike Carter scored the only goal for the Havoc with 10:30 left in the game.

Saturday, January 9 -Mississippi 2, Huntsville 3

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Chris Myers scored with 10:24 left in the game breaking a 2-2 and giving the Huntsville Havoc a 3-2 win over the Mississippi Surge.

Chris Ferazzoli put the Surge on top early with a powerplay goal just 2:28 into the game.

Mike MacDonald scored a short-handed goal with 15:22 left in the first to tie the game at 1-1. Bill McCreary scored on the powerplay with 10:43 left and the Havoc held a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Matthew Larke scored for the Surge with 13:26 left in the second and the game was tied 2-2 after two periods of play.

Dan McWhinney made 25 saves in the win while Bill Zaniboni made 18 in the loss.

HAVOC FANS RESPOND AGAIN FOR CHARITY

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc fans once again responded for charity as the team held the fourth annual Melissa George Night presented by Holland Dental on Saturday night.

The Havoc wore special white jerseys with pink and baby blue footprints of actual babies that have spent time in the Huntsville Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The player also warmed up with special pink sticks that were auctioned off. A retro Havoc lunchbox was also given away to the first 1,000 fans that made a donation to the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund.

At the end of the night more than $40,560 had been raised bringing the four-year total to over $200,000.
