Huntsville Gets Revenge on the RiverKings

Huntsville, AL - The Mississippi RiverKings could not pull off a second comeback in as many games against Huntsville as the Havoc knocked off the RiverKings 5-1 Thursday night.

In the Havoc's first game since Randy Murphy's announcement that he was stepping down from the Head Coach position, the home team came out firing. Mike MacDonald scored twice in a minute and a half early in the first period as Huntsville had a 2-0 lead six minutes into the contest. Ray Ortiz added a third goal at the 13:15 mark of the period to put the Havoc up three at the first intermission.

The Havoc continued the offense early in the second as Stuart Stefan put the puck to the back of the net past David Wilson to push the score to 4-0 just 3:11 into the second.

Seven seconds later, Justin MacDonald picked up his first goal as a RiverKing as he beat Mark Sibbald to cut the deficit to three.

Alex Morton pushed the Huntsville lead back to four at the 15:00 mark of the second period as the Havoc knocked off the 'Kings 5-1.

David Wilson (12-6-2) took the loss in his first game back with the RiverKings, stopping 22 of 27 shots against. Mark Sibbald (5-10-2) picked up his first win since being activated from team suspension on February 17.

The RiverKings travel to Columbus to do battle against the Cottonmouths at 6:30 tomorrow night. The game will broadcast live on Radio Memphis and the America One television network.
