
Humphries Named American Association's Rawlings Player of the Month

SIOUX FALLS, SD- The Sioux Falls Canaries are pleased to announce that outfielder Brian Humphries has been named the American Association's Rawlings Player of the Month for July.
Humphries hit safely in 24-of-27 games during the month, including 16 multi-hit games. The power-hitting outfielder posted a .415 batting average, going 49-for-118 at the plate, with eight doubles, eight homeruns, and 26 RBI.
Humphries pieced together three different hitting streaks of five games or more during the month, and is currently enjoying a 10-game hitting streak entering Sunday night's game against the Laredo Lemurs. He is hitting .445 with six homeruns, two doubles, and 12 RBI during that stretch.
Humphries is putting together his best professional season in 2015. He has already racked up 90 hits in 64 games, and is hitting .338 with 15 doubles, 11 homeruns and 40 RBI.
The 25-year-old spent the past four seasons in the Colorado Rockies organization, and was an All-Star in 2014 for AA-Tulsa in the Texas League, where he racked up 111 hits and 45 RBI in 112 games played.
This is the second American Association award of the summer for Humphries. He was previously named the American Association Pointstreak Player of the Week on July 13th.
Humphries and the Canaries open up a week-long Texas roadtrip on Sunday night in the opening game of a three-game series against the Laredo Lemurs at 6:05 PM.

The Birds return to Sioux Falls Stadium on Saturday, August 8th to open up a three-game series against their I-29 rivals, the Sioux City Explorers at 6:05 PM.
