Howes, Todd Dusosky, Green named to All-MISL Teams
April 27, 2004 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
(Milwaukee, WI) Wave forwards Greg Howes and Todd Dusosky have been named to the 2003-04 All-Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) First Team. It's the second consecutive year that Howes has earned a spot on the first team and the first for Dusosky, who was a second team selection last season (2002-03).
In addition, goalkeeper Dan Green was named to All-MISL Second Team. It's the first time Green has been selected to an all-league team.
Howes, a 27-year old native of Tacoma, WA, was the MISL's leading scorer during the 2003-04 regular season. He led the league with 57 goals and 85 points, far outdistancing Monterrey's Genoni Martinez (67 points) for the league scoring crown. The fourth-year pro from Oregon State University also registered a team record five four-goal outings as well as a team record seven hat tricks (three goals in a match). Howes also set a team record when he scored four goals in three consecutive games from 2/22 â 3/7. He also led the league with nine game-winning goals and finished second in power play goals with 13. As durable as he is talented, Howes has appeared in a team record 164 straight regular season and playoff games; he's also played in the last 111 consecutive Wave / Wave United games since the start of the 2002-03 season.
Dusosky, a 27 year-old native of Anoka, MN, enjoyed another outstanding season in which he finished second on the team and sixth in the league with 60 points. The league's leading playmaker with 42 assists last season, Dusosky finished second in the MISL this season with 36 assists, seven behind Baltimore's Chile Farias. Now in his eighth season with the Wave, Dusosky and his brother Troy (the other half of the Wave's "Twin Tandem") are regarded as one of the most dynamic sibling combinations in the history of North American indoor soccer.
After four previous seasons backing up the legendary Victor Nogueira, the 32-year old Green established himself as one of the league's top goalkeepers in 2003-04. The Waukesha, WI native, who attended Hartland Arrowhead H.S. before going on to play at Northern Illinois University, compiled an 18-3 mark with a 4.02 goals against average, the latter figure setting the standard for MISL âkeepers. Green was particularly tough on the Wave's home turf at U.S. Cellular Arena, where he posted a record of 11-0 and a GAA of 3.42.
The Wave continues play in the 2004 MISL Championship Series this upcoming weekend in Baltimore when it takes on the defending champion Blast in Game Three of the best-of-five series Saturday, May 1, 6:35 PM CDT at 1st Mariner Arena. Should Milwaukee win to keep the series alive, Game Four would take place Sunday, May 2, 5:05 PM at 1st Mariner Arena. All Wave / Wave United games may be heard on 540 AM, WRRD ("The Word") with air time approximately 20 minutes prior to kick-off.
