April 27, 2004 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2) News Release
(Westport, Conn., April 27, 2004) â Milwaukee Wave forward Greg Howes headlines the list of players comprising the 2003-04 All-MISL teams, which were announced by the Major Indoor Soccer League on Tuesday. Howes, who led the MISL in scoring this season with 85 points, was the only player named on all 40 ballots in voting that included team executives and a panel of media members featuring representatives from each of the MISL's nine cities.
Voters were asked to select two complete teams of All-MISL players. Each voter was asked to choose one goalkeeper, two defenders, and three forward/midfielders for each team. A first-team vote was worth two points and a second-team vote was worth one point. Nine of the 12 players recognized have gained All-League honors in previous seasons. Eight repeat as All-League selections from the 2002-03 season.
Howes repeats as an All-MISL First-Team forward/midfielder following a regular season in which he led the MISL with 57 goals and finished in a fifth-place tie with 28 assists. In All-MISL balloting, the 27-year-old forward from Tacoma, Wash., received 39 first-team votes, and one second-team vote, for a total of 79 points (out of a possible 80).
Joining Howes as All-MISL First Team forward/midfielders are Milwaukee teammate Todd Dusosky (51 points) and Carlos "Chile" Farias (48 points) of the Baltimore Blast. Dusosky, 27, completed his ninth regular season in the League, and eighth with the Wave, scoring 24 goals and placing second in the League in assists, with 36.
