Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC today announced the U.S. Open Cup Finals Sweepstakes that gives fans the opportunity to win two (2) tickets to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.
Houston Dynamo FC travel to face Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF on Wednesday, September 27 at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Fans can enter for a chance to win tickets HERE. The sweepstakes will run through 11:59 p.m. CT on September 12, 2023, and a winner will be selected on September 15. The winner is responsible for transportation to/from Miami and the stadium, as well as any other expenses incurred.
"Matches like these are what every team around the world strives to compete in," HDFC Chief Operating Officer Jessica O'Neill said. "With a trophy on the line and world-class players representing both teams, we anticipate another marquee soccer event and hope to see plenty of orange in the crowd cheering on the Houston Dynamo."
The Dynamo, who won the U.S. Open Cup title in 2018, reached this year's final after defeating Real Salt Lake 3-1 in extra time at Shell Energy Stadium on August 23. Captain Héctor Herrera opened scoring in first-half stoppage time, while Panamanian international Adalberto "Coco" Carrasquilla and midfielder Luís Caicedo both found the back of the net in extra time.
Houston is having a resurgent season, currently sitting inside the MLS playoff line in fifth in the Western Conference. Along with reaching the U.S. Open Cup Final and qualifying for the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, the Dynamo made a run to the quarterfinals of the inaugural Leagues Cup last month.
Houston returns to league play on September 16 when they host St. Louis CITY SC for Kick Childhood Cancer Night at Shell Energy Stadium. For additional information, visit HoustonDynamoFC.com.
