Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo Football Club and HP's gaming brand OMEN have joined forces to bring fans and players closer together through online gaming in a multi-year partnership, the two organizations announced today. OMEN is now the Official Gaming Partner of the Houston Dynamo Football Club.
Launched on June 6, 2017, OMEN by HP offers a lineup of desktops, laptops, displays and gaming accessories designed to target the needs of competitive gamers. The current portfolio includes a variety of the most innovative and powerful products on the market, like the Invictus laptop line and the Omen 25L and 30L desktop. Additional information about OMEN products is available here.
"We are thrilled to welcome OMEN to the Club and offer our players a first-class gaming lounge later this year," Dynamo President, John Walker said. "The growth of the video game space has just accelerated so quickly in the last few years and we see that as an opportunity to connect with fans in a new way. We have worked with both leagues to explore additional virtual opportunities with our players and now we have a designated space to do just that at Houston Sports Park."
OMEN and the Club are working together to create a space where Dynamo and Dash athletes can relax before or after training and kick back to play with each other and their fans. The OMEN Gaming Players' Lounge is coming to Houston Sports Park as part of the ongoing renovation of the team training facility. The OMEN Gaming Players' Lounge will also be available for groups to reserve in the evening for parties, meetings, gaming competitions and more.
Later this summer, the Club and OMEN will team up to host a celebrity gaming challenge, in which Houston Dynamo and Dash players, former players and Houston icons will compete in an online tournament, with the winner earning $10,000 for charity. Details on the event will be released in the near future.
Through this partnership, OMEN will add a pair of new Houston Dynamo and Dash players as brand ambassadors, including the Club's eMLS competitor Jordy Reyes along with Houston Dynamo FC midfielder Memo Rodriguez and Houston Dash midfielder Maegan Rosa.
