
Houston Dash Forward Rachel Daly Named to England Women's National Team for 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup

HOUSTON - Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named to the England Women's National Team roster by head coach Phil Neville for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, the Football Association announced today.
England, currently ranked fourth in the world by FIFA, is set to take on Scotland for their first game in Group D on June 9 at Stade de Nice in Nice, France. Five days later, the Lionesses will play at against Argentina at Stade Océane in Le Havre. The Lionesses will close group play against Japan on June 19 in Stade de Nice.
Daly has scored three goals in 19 appearances for the Lionesses. The Harrogate, England native recently won the 2019 She Believes Cup with England after two victories over Brazil, Japan and a draw with the United States.
The forward was named the club's Most Valuable Player on Oct. 12, 2018 after she scored a career-high 10 goals in her third season with the Dash. In addition to three NWSL Team of the Month honors last season, Daly was named to the NWSL Second XI on Sept. 20, 2018.
Selected sixth overall by the Dash in the 2016 NWSL Draft, Daly ranks second in club history with 20 goals. She has appeared in 66 games with 62 starts in her first four seasons, seeing time at both forward and right back for the club. Daly scored her first goal of the 2019 season in a matchup against the North Carolina Courage on April 28 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
