With their 1st Round Selection (13th overall) in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection, the Soo Greyhounds were pleased to select Jordan Mayer from the Greater Kingston Minor Midgets.

The 5'9", 165-lb right centre averaged over a point per game after playing in 29 games this past season accumulating 30 goals and 25 assists, good for 55 points.

Mayer is a native of Kingston, Ontario.

"Mayer is a very skilled two-way centre who performs and competes at a very consistent level. He possesses very good feet and is a smooth skater who has great acceleration. He always plays at high speed and reads the game well. He finds the open ice, and works to get himself into a position to be an offensive option. When he gets possession of the puck he shows a ton of composure." states OHL Central Scouting.

The Hounds would like to welcome Jordan and his family to the Soo Greyhound organization and look forward to seeing him in Sault Ste. Marie for the team's prospect orientation camp at the end May.

HOUNDS NEXT PICK: 13th pick in the 2nd Round

33rd overall
