Hounds Lose Sixth Straight On The Road

SOUTHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI - The Mississippi RiverKings completed the sweep of the SteelHounds with a 6-4 win on Saturday night. The Hounds have now lost a franchise record six straight road games.
Ryan Campbell scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 5:30 of the first period to give the Kings a 1-0 lead. Chris Richards tied it up with a power play goal at 6:29. The captain has 13 goals on the season. At 8:08 Jeff Alcombrack tried to clear the puck out of his zone but it bounced off of Ryan Campbell and past Andy Franck to give the RiverKings a 2-1 lead. Eric Przepiorka scored his team-leading 17th goal of the season at 16:38 to make it 2-2 after the first period.
Chad Woollard and Brian Mullally scored at 9:01 and 10:13 respectively to give the RiverKings a 4-2 lead after two periods. It was Mullally's first goal of the season.
Jason Weitzel put the RiverKings up for good as he scored just nine seconds into the third period to make it 5-2. Kevin Jarman made it 5-3 with 14:23 to play but Chad Woollard slammed that door shut with his second goal of the night just 2:19 later. Kirill Starkov scored at 17:24 to finish the scoring as the Hounds fell to the Kings by a score of 6-4.
Youngstown has lost a franchise record six straight road games to drop to 14-9-1 on the road and 20-11-2 (42 points) overall. They are now just one point ahead of Mississippi for second place in the Northeast Division. The Kings are 20-12-1 (41 points). Both teams are now 4-4-0 against each other this season.
The Hounds will return home for a six game home stand starting Friday night against the first place Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at 7:05. All SteelHounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240 and SteelHounds.com.
