Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

Friday night saw the Youngstown SteelHounds go down early and make a valiant come back but fall just short to the Colorado Eagles at the Chevrolet Centre. The Eagles struck early and often as all three goals came within 1:33 of each period as Seth Leonard scored 22 seconds into the first period, Ryan Tobler scored 24 seconds into the second period and Sean Robertson scored at 1:33 of the third period to go up 3-0 on the Hounds.

The Hounds rallied back as Stephen Margeson scored his 15th of the year at 2:27 to make it a 3-1 deficit. Former Eagle Garrett Larson scored on the power play with exactly nine minutes to play to make it 3-2 and that was the end of the scoring as Marco Emond made 35 saves on 37 shots to preserve the victory for the Eagles.

After winning eight in a row and being unbeaten in 11 straight the Hounds are now winless in their last three games as they dropped to 31-18-10 (72pts), still holding onto the fourth seed in the Northern Conference Standings. Youngstown is yet to defeat Colorado in its two year history as they are now 0-7-0 lifetime against the defending Northern Conference Champions.
