
Hounds Announce Captains

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club today announced their captain and assistant captains for the 2008/2009 season. Head Coach Denny Lambert announced that MATT LYALL will become the latest member of the Hounds to wear the "C" while the assistant captains have been set as ANTHONY PELUSO and MATT CARIA (home games) and JAMES LIVINGSTON and DYLAN KING (road games).
For Matt Lyall, the 08/09 season will mark the Richmond Hill, ONTARIO native's 5th season in the Ontario Hockey League and 4th as a member of the Soo Greyhounds. Over each of the past 4 years he has increased his point totals with a season high 57 pts last year. He also finished the 07/08 regular season with a plus 24 rating.
Home assistant captains Anthony Peluso (STL) and Matt Caria, each enters their 4th season in the OHL and first-full campaign with the Hounds since being acquired from the Erie Otters and Mississauga St. Michael's Majors respectively. Caria led the team during their run to the Rogers Western Conference Championship last year with 6 goals and 8 assists (14 points)
James Livingston (STL) and Dylan King enter their 3rd and 2nd seasons respectively. Livingston is coming off a 44 point season and later a summer that saw him drafted in the 3rd round of the NHL Entry draft.
All 5 players will be in the line-up Friday night when the Hounds host the Saginaw Spirit in an exhibition contest. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Essar Centre.
