Hot Rods Take Down Drive

Greenville, SC - Even after six runs in one inning, the Greenville Drive lost the third game of the series with the Bowling Green Hot Rods 11-8.

Bowling Green started the first inning off strong as they scored three runs due to hits from Kyle Manzardo and Alexander Ovalles.

The Hot Rods kept the momentum going in the next inning when Logan Driscoll hit a homer to extend their lead 4-0.

Manzardo had his second RBI of the night at the top of the third when he batted in Alika Williams. Bowling Green proceeded to score three more runs throughout the third to make the score 8-0.

The Drive had some catching up to do as they put their first runs on the board at the bottom of the third when Joe Davis hit a homer with Nick Yorke on base.

Bowling Green kept Greenville at arm's length as they scored another run in the fourth to add to their strong lead. However, the Drive began to chip away at the Hot Rod's lead at the bottom of the fourth when they scored an incredible six runs.

Alex Erro struck first when he hit an RBI double sending Antoni Flores home. Yorke got in on the action hitting a single sending two men to home plate. The Drive kept their foot on the gas as Alex Binelas hit an RBI double allowing Yorke to run home. To close out the inning Davis put up his second home run of the night getting every Drive fan on their feet. After the fourth, Greenville only trailed by one as Bowling Green then led 9-8.

Four scoreless innings flew by before the Hot Rods sealed their lead with a home run by Williams with Dru Baker on base. Bowling Green won the third game of the series 11-8.

The Drive plays the Hot Rods again at Fluor Field tomorrow at 7:05.
