Driving it Home on the Road... Every Hot Rods hitter with a plate appearance recorded a hit against the Drive, including multi-hit games from Logan Driscoll and Michael Berglund. Berglund smacked two doubles in his three at-bats and Heriberto Hernandez hit a three-run shot for his 11th homer of the year. Kyle Whitten earned the win and Evan Reifert struck out four of the final six batters to earn his first save as a member of the Rays organization.

Yesterday's Notes... Auer has a six-game hit streak... He also extended his on-base streak to 11 games... He had his second multi-RBI game of the year... Manzardo has hit safely in four straight... Driscoll has an eight-game hit streak... He's also recorded a hit in three-straight games... Driscoll recorded his fifth multi-hit game of the season... Lopez has been on base in four-straight contests... Turner made his 2022 Hot Rods debut as a pinch runner in the ninth... Berglund had his fifth multi-hit effort of the year... Williams had his 11th multi-RBI game of the year... Every BG batter had a hit... The Hot Rods are 6-1 against Greenville this season...

Changes... The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Tuesday that Hot Rods Infielder Ronny Simon had been promoted to AA Montgomery, making room for 2021 Hot Rods infielder Gionti Turner to receive a promotion from Single-A Charleston. Simon leaves the Hot Rods as the team leader in both stolen bases (22) and home runs (15). Turner returns to the Hot Rods after playing five games with BG in 2021 at the end of the season.

Playoff Ready... With the Hot Rods clinching their spot in the 2022 SAL Playoffs, tickets for the post-season games at Bowling Green Ballpark have gone on sale. The Divisional Round will begin on Tuesday, September 13 at the second-half South Division Champion's ballpark before game two of the series will be at Bowling Green Ballpark on Thursday, September 15. If game three is necessary, the Hot Rods will host that game on Friday, September 16. In the event the Hot Rods advance to the League Championship, they'll host game one on Sunday, September 18 before finishing the series on the road on Tuesday, September 20 and Wednesday, September 21at the North Division's winner.

Clinched!... BG finished the first half leading their division for the third time in club history, clinching a playoff spot with 2018's Midwest League Champions and again in 2011. (there were no halves in 2021). The 2011 team finished the first leg of the season with a 41-29 record while the 2018 Hot Rods set a franchise record with 47 wins in the first half and a record of 47-22. The 2022 club became the third Hot Rods team to the 40-win mark in a half.

Among the Leaders... The Hot Rods have multiple players that are amongst the league leaders in several categories. Recently promoted Ronny Simon leaves the team tied for eighth in the league with15 homers. Simon is also tied for fourth in runs scored (57), eighth in stolen bases (22), and eighth in total bases (136). Kyle Manzardo is now qualified and is tied for eighth in homers (14), third in batting average (.312) and OBP (.415) while leading the league in slugging (.590) and OPS (1.005). Heriberto Hernandez is sixth in extra-base hits (33) and second in doubles (22). Mason Montgomery, who hasn't been with BG since July 9, still leads the SAL with 118 strikeouts while Anthony Molina is tied for the league lead with nine wins. Joe La Sorsa, who is also in Montgomery, is still tied for second in the SAL with seven saves.
