MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR
With everyone making preparations for the holidays, now is a good time to give pause and reflect upon the many blessings for which we are thankful in 2005. We, the members of the Corpus Christi Hooks' front office staff, cannot say thank you enough to you the fans and sponsors of Hooks' baseball for the incredible display of support that was demonstrated during our first season in the Texas League. We are thankful for each and every one of you and hope that you will continue to support the club in the years to come.
The Hooks' front office will be closed for Thanksgiving from noon today through Sunday, November 27th, and will reopen on Monday, November 28th at 9:00 am. Hook, Line & Sinker, the team's souvenir store, will be open through 6:00 pm tonight, but will be closed for the next four days. Hook, Line & Sinker will reopen next Monday morning at 10:00 am. Have a safe and very Happy Thanksgiving!
ANDERSON & HIRSH ADDED TO 40-MAN ROSTER
Late this past Friday afternoon, the Houston Astros announced the addition of five minor leaguers to their 40-man roster, a move that included outfielder Josh Anderson and pitcher Jason Hirsh, two of the major cogs in the Hooks' 2005 campaign. The maneuver protects these players from being selected by other clubs during the upcoming Rule 5 Draft, and it also means that Anderson and Hirsh will be playing for the Astros during spring training. In addition to Anderson and Hirsh, the other players added to the Astros' 40-man roster were pitchers Matt Albers, Jimmy Barthmaier and Felipe Paulino.
QUICK REMINDER
Be sure to have Saturday, December 3rd marked on your calendar. That's the day we'll be holding our Open House, which will include among other things a Job Fair for the 2006 season, plus National Anthem tryouts, the kickoff for our new Rusty's Kid's Club sponsored by Wells Fargo, information and registration for the introduction of our new Silver Sluggers Club and Birthday Club, and special tours of Whataburger Field. We're also expecting a visit from Santa that afternoon as well!
The Open House will take place from 10:00 am through 3:00 pm on December 3rd. For more details on the Open House
