PLAY BALL! - The wait is nearly over. Your chance to see the 2007 Corpus Christi Hooks, as well as your favorite Hooks from last season, is next Sunday, April 1st. First pitch between the Hooks and Round Rock Express is 2:05 p.m., and the first 5,000 fans receive Texas League championship posters courtesy of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. On Saturday, March 31st, the Hooks and Express meet in a 1:05 p.m. contest at The Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

HOOKS HARDWARE - The Hooks ring in the new season with a special ceremony prior to the April 1st exhibition against Round Rock at Whataburger Field. Rings will be presented to the players and coaches who brought the 2006 Texas League title to Corpus Christi. On Thursday, April 12th, Whataburger provides the first 2,500 fans with replica rings before the home opener against Wichita.

ASTROS EXPRESS - Upon their return from Florida, the Houston Astros stop in Central Texas at The Dell Diamond to take part in an exhibition with the Round Rock Express on Thursday, March 29th at 7:05 p.m. To learn more about ticket availability, call The Dell Diamond Ticket Office at 512-255-2255, or visit www.rrexpress.com

CLUB CENTRAL - Did you know the Corpus Christi Hooks have fan clubs for children and seniors? Sammy's Birthday Club, presented by NavyArmy Federal Credit Union, provides kids 12-&-under with a Sammy birthday and baseball card, two reserved game tickets, a chance to run in Sammy's Birthday Parade, and a special gift. Membership in Rusty's Kids Club, sponsored by Driscoll Children's Health Plan, brings a T-shirt, cap, membership card, 10-percent discount at Hook, Line & Sinker, and four general admission tickets to four pre-selected Hooks home games.

Silver Sluggers, sponsored by First Community Bank, gives fans over the age of 55 a T-shirt, seat cushion, cap for men, visor for women, membership card, discount at Hook, Line & Sinker, and two reserved tickets to three home games.

YOU'VE GOT MAIL - Hooks season tickets were sent out Monday and Tuesday of this week. If you do not receive your tickets by Friday, call the Hooks Ticket Office at 361-561-4665 - extension 1.

WEBSITE POLL - Hooks Nation has spoken. Nearly 46 percent of the 542 who voted selected Hunter Pence as the Astros starting right fielder on Opening Day. Luke Scott was a distant second, garnering 30 percent of the vote, while Jason Lane place third at 14 percent.
