Honkers Sign Two More from UC-Riverside

(Rochester, Minn.)- The Rochester Honkers announced today the addition of two more players from the University of California-Riverside for the 2016 Northwoods League Season.

Alex Fagalde is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound junior right-handed pitcher from Ed Dorado Hills, Calif. He comes to UC Riverside after spending two seasons at Cuesta JC in Calif. Fagalde finished his sophomore season of 2015 7-5 with a 2.95 EAR. He struck out 56 and walked 23 in 85.1 innings. He struck out a season-high eight batters on two occasions. Fagalde was redshirted in 2014 but played in Victoria, British Columbia in the summer for the Victoria HarbourCats of the West Coast League. He went 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA over 12 games and struck out 35 and walked 11 in 34 innings.

Casey Worden is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound catcher from Newport Beach, Calif. He joined UCR after two years playing at Saddleback Community College. He finished his sophomore year hitting .275 with three home runs and 18 RBIs. As a freshman he hit .254 with 14 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He threw out the most runners (23) in the Junior College league. Worden father, Bill Worden, played professionally for six years, three in Single A and three in Double A as third baseman, catcher and first baseman.

The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express. The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
