Saskatchewan's own Laine Hruska stole the show, making 36 saves in his NLL debut as the Rush topped the Colorado Mammoth 12-11 in overtime on Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre on Saturday (Apr.22).
The home team jumped out to an early lead as Clark Walter beat Dillon Ward, before former Mammoth forward Rhys Duch scored to give Saskatchewan a 2-1 lead after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Ryan Keenan, Matt Beers, Mark Matthews and Duch found the back of the net as the Rush led 6-4 at the break.
The third quarter saw a rejuvenated Robert Church score a pair of goals, while Keenan and Ryan Barnable helped extend the lead to 10-7.
As has been the case all season, the fourth quarter brought on a scare as Church would cap off his hat trick, but Colorado responded with four of their own, sending the game to overtime.
Free lacrosse meant another opportunity for Church to shine and the superstar sent the fans home with a smile as he ended it 1:28 into the extra frame.
Between the pipes, Hruska made 36 saves and Dillon Ward stopped 37.
Saskatchewan (7-10) will finish up their season next weekend in Las Vegas against the Desert Dogs.
