Homers Fuel Lookouts' Win

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Allan Cerda hit a 434-foot home run to left-center and the Chattanooga Lookouts held on for the, 5-4, win over the Birmingham Barons on Wednesday night from AT&T Field.

Alex McGarry put the hosts on the board early with a lead-off homer in the second for the game's first run. Three batters later Ivan Johnson added one more with a two-out dinger of his own to put Chattanooga (35-36) up, 2-1.

Birmingham (32-39) answered in the fourth batting around and putting a four-spot to take the lead but it would not last for long.

In the bottom of the fifth, Nick Quintana had a lead-off single, and Michael De Leon tied things up with a two-run shot over the to right-center before Cerda completed the comeback in the sixth with his solo homer.

Spencer Stockton (1-0) picked up his first Double-A win pitching three innings of relief work allowing no hits or runs with three walks. Andy Fisher picked up a hold retiring a batter and Stevie Branche picked up his first save on the year pitching the final two innings giving up three hits and struck out a pair of batters.

Felix Paulino (3-3) was tagged with the loss for the Barons pitching the final 3.2 innings in relief giving up one run on two hits, no walks, and fanned three batters.

The two teams match up again on Thursday night from AT&T Field. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
