Duluth Huskies News Release

DULUTH, Minn - Following an eight-game road trip, the Duluth Huskies returned home to Wade Stadium Thursday night and played host to the Waterloo Bucks.

Duluth spoiled a comeback attempt from the Bucks after a lengthy lightning delay right before the seventh inning was set to get underway. The Huskies found victory by the slimmest of margins, winning 4-3.

The Huskies were off and running on offense in the opening inning. Eduardo Rosario started the scoring for Duluth with an RBI double that scored Kristian Campbell. The next batter to step in for the Huskies created the same result. In his Huskies debut, Peyton Powell ripped a double down the left-field line to get the home team up, 2-0.

Waterloo had a response in the top of the second. Ryan Grabosh recorded a two-run homer to knot the game even. The New Mexico State product hit his inaugural home run on the 2022 campaign.

After snagging a 3-2 advantage, Rosario had more to add to the scoresheet. The Omaha University product sent home Ambren Voitik to double-up the Bucks in the run department at the end of the fourth frame.

Jaron DeBerry got the start for the Huskies and threw six innings allowing three runs on seven hits. He sat down six men via the strikeout and walked one batter. DeBerry received his first decision of the year, moving his record to 1-0. Nolan Lebamoff tossed two scoreless innings to set up Jake Christianson for his third save of the season.

Waterloo starter Campbell Holt was handed the loss, pushing his record to 0-3 this Northwoods League season.

The Huskies battle the Bucks again Friday night at Wade Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 pm CT.
