
Hollywood Fame Wins Home Opener

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2006) - The American Basketball Association's (ABA) Hollywood Fame (6-2) dominated the Big Valley Shockwave (1-7) on Friday night, winning their third consecutive game and first at home by a 17-point margin with a 115-98 victory at Santa Monica College.
The Jam was led by guard Larry Williams with 24 points and seven assists. Former UCLA standout Billy Knight and Justin Isham both finished the game with 20 points. Jamison Brewer had a game-high 11 assists.
Big Valley's Reggie Richardson led the Shockwave with 16 points. Joe Hickingbottom was the game's leading rebounder with 10.
The stands were filled with a star-studded crowd, including NBA great Dennis Rodman, MLB All-Star Brady Anderson, American Idol finalist and tonight's national anthem singer Ryan Starr and NBA legend John Salley.
The Fame's next contest will take place tomorrow, Dec. 15 against the San Diego Wildcat at 7:05 p.m. at Santa Monica College.
The Hollywood Fame is the newest team to join the ABA. It is owned by a host of celebrities and professional athletes including A.J. Discala, Nick Lachey, Geoff Stults ("7th Heaven" and "The Break-Up"), Stacy Keibler ("Dancing With the Stars"), former NBA legend John Salley, former MLB All-Star Brady Anderson, Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Hampton, NFL quarterback Kyle Boller of the Baltimore Ravens and NASCAR's Brian Vickers, among others.
