(York, Pa.): Two more signings were announced by the York Revolution on Tuesday, and both are familiar names. Lefty Brian Holliday has signed a contract to return to the Revs pitching staff, while outfielder Jamar Hill, acquired late last season, has also inked a deal. Revs Director of Player Procurement Michael Kirk made the signings official, in conjunction with skipper Andy Etchebarren.

Holliday, 25, began last season in the Revolution bullpen, and moved to the rotation late in the year. Overall, the southpaw went 3-3 with a 4.81 ERA in 35 appearances. He worked 76.2 innings, allowing just six homeruns and 29 walks, while striking out 47 batters. He went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA over his final six appearances, and the Revs won four of his six starts. A former 12th round pick out of Moon Area High School by the Pirates, Holliday spent his entire previous career in the Pittsburgh organization as a hometown product, residing in Moon Township, PA. The 2010 season will be his ninth in professional baseball.

"The thing I like most about Brian is that he's useful," said Kirk. "He can start and relieve for us, and he's also a good clubhouse guy."

Hill was acquired by the Revolution late last season via trade from the Victoria Seals of the Golden League, where he batted.289 and was among league leaders with 19 homeruns in only 75 games. Hill made an immediate impact on the Revs lineup, playing in each of York's final 20 games, and hitting.304 with three homeruns. Within one week of his arrival, he had already tied a career franchise record, and set a new Revs single-season record by clubbing two game-opening leadoff homeruns, a feat accomplished in a matter of just three games. Also among his highlights was a walk-off knock high off the Arch Nemesis in a last at-bat win over the Bluefish on September 5. Hill will enter 2010 with 100 career homeruns. The 27-year-old was born in Phoenix, AZ, and grew up in Anchorage, AK. Hill has spent most of his career as a prospect in the New York Mets organization, and will embark on his ninth professional season.

"I think Jamar proved last year what he can do in this league," said Kirk. "He has all the tools."

The Revs now have 10 players under contract for the 2010 season.
