Idaho Stampede News Release

SANTA CRUZ, California, March 27, 2013 - Just hours after the Miami Heat's 27-game winning streak ended in a loss to the Chicago Bulls, the Idaho Stampede beat the Santa Cruz Warriors 109-101 to stop their nine-game winning streak. Justin Holiday poured in 36 points (4-7 3FG, 12-14 FT), continuing his red-hot pace since mid-January, while Coby Karl added 16 points and nine assists.

Karl's fade away shot with 23.8 seconds left put Idaho (16-30) up by three and the Warriors did not score again. Sean Evans came off the bench to tally 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Durrell Summers added 17 points.

Seven Warriors (31-14) scored in double-figures, including Stefhon Hannah, who had 19 points and 10 assists. Hilton Armstrong had 16 points, Jeremy Tyler added 15 points and Travis Leslie had 13, but Santa Cruz committed 25 turnovers, which led to 34 Stampede points, and were out-rebounded 46-36 by Idaho. The Stampede attempted twice as many free throws (36-to-18) and made 8-of-15 three-pointers.

Since January 12, Holiday has scored under 10 points just three times and has topped 20 points 14 times, including five 30+ point performances. He has also collected two or more steals in 18 of his last 19 games.

The Stampede finished its road schedule and now have four home games left, starting with March 29 and 30 against the Bakersfield Jam (7 p.m. MST) at CenturyLink Arena.
