Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, Manitoba - Western Manitoba hockey fans have recieved some great news as the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings announced that Season Ticket prices will remain unchanged for the 2010-11 season.

The Wheat Kings, who enter the final weekend of regular season play with a three point lead on the second place Saskatoon Blades in the WHL's Eastern Division, unveiled their 2010-11 prices Thursday afternoon.

2010-11 SEASON TICKET PRICES: Adults (19 and Older) $325

Youth (18 and under) $175

Since introducing their new Season Ticket pricing in 2006, the Wheat Kings have seen their season ticket base grow from 1,500 to over three thousand.

$325 equates to a single game ticket price of just over $9 a game, easily the most affordable ticket price in the WHL.

"We are proud to continue with offering Wheat King fans the LOWEST priced season tickets in the Western Hockey League," says Wheat Kings' coach and general manager Kelly McCrimmon. "We are also proud of the season we have had, and the enhanced fan experience we are giving our fans with the new video scoreclock."

"In turn, we want to keep our season ticket levels at the high level they currently are at," McCrimmon went on to say. "We consider this a partnership with our fans, we want them to know the hockey club cares about the price our fans pay to watch WHL hockey."

Season ticket holders wanting to guarantee their seat for the 2010-11 campaign will need to reserve and pay for their seats by June 11th, 2010.

The Wheat Kings, who host the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup in May, sold a franchise high 3,611 Season Tickets this season - up from just over 2,700 in 2008-09.

Entering Saturday's final home game of the regular season, Brandon is averaging well over 4,700 fans per home game, which represents an all time high.

A crowd of 6,022 turned out to see the Wheat Kings beat up on the Moose Jaw Warriors 8-2 on Wednesday night.
