
Hogs set franchise record with 10-game unbeaten streak

The Rockford IceHogs winning ways were temporarily put on hold during Week 7 of the 2004-05 Untied Hockey League season, but it wasn't before the team set another franchise record. The IceHogs racked up a 10-game unbeaten streak that has carried them to the top of the UHL. The Hogs will look to start another winning stretch during Week 8 with four games in five nights beginning Wednesday against Fort Wayne at the Rockford MetroCentre.

Saturday, November 27: Rockford 3 at Missouri 5: The Rockford IceHogs had a couple of franchise record streaks come to an end Saturday, as the IceHogs fell to the Missouri River Otters 5-3 at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The IceHogs 10-game unbeaten streak and five-game road unbeaten streak came to a halt. Missouri scored three goals in the first period to pull ahead 3-0 at the intermission. Winger Mark Odut notched the games first goal at the 1:35 mark, flipping one over Hogs goalie Michel Robinson. Then at the 3:47 mark, winger Brian Heckendorn pushed the lead to 2-0 before Justin Quenneville extended the lead to three at 9:21. Rockford center J.C. Ruid put Rockford on the board with a power play blast at 1:46 of the second period. But Otters winger Chris Bell gave Missouri their three goal lead back at 9:45, capitalizing on a power play. Rockford made another comeback run in the third period. Winger J.F. Dufour tallied at 6:51, but once again the Hogs couldn't keep Missouri off the board as Quenneville lit his second lamp of the night at 9:11. Center Olivier Proulx closed the gap to 5-3 at 11:46, but that was all that the IceHogs could muster. Robinson stopped 29 shots in his only loss during November and Jason Ralph had three assists for Rockford.
Transactions
-Rockford winger Ricky Reznick was placed on waivers on Monday, November 22.
-Center J.C. Ruid was activated from the 7-Day Injured Reserve on Friday, November 26.
-Rockford signed winger Blake Stewart on Friday, November 26.
Bacon Bits:
The IceHogs franchise record 10 game unbeaten streak (8-0-2) came to an end of Saturday, November 27 against Missouri. Rockford's franchise record tying five-game road unbeaten streak (4-0-1) also came to an end.
Hogs center J.C. Ruid has a goal in each of Rockford's last five road games, a UHL season high.
Ruid, who returned from the IR on Friday, also has a point in an IceHogs season high seven straight games.
Rockford's eight wins in the month of November are the second most wins in a month for the club in franchise history.
Hogs goalie Michel Robinson finished the month of November with a 5-1-2 record with a .936 save percentage and a 1.94 goals against average. Robinson's seven wins for the season, match his win total from last season.
The IceHogs lost only two games in the month November, the first and last games in the month in which they played.
Hot Hog: Week 7
Winger Jason Ralph: Ralph chipped in 1g-4a-5pts in three games for the IceHogs during Week 7. Ralph, who has been a consistent scorer for the IceHogs all season long, was a +1 and had 28 penalty minutes for the week as well.

Wednesday, December 1 vs. Fort Wayne Komets. Start time is 7:05 p.m. The Western Division rival Komets return to the MetroCentre for the third time this season. As always, Pig Out with the IceHogs and WXRX 104.9 FM on Wednesday. That's a pulled pork sandwich and a beer for just $5.
Friday, December 3 at Flint Generals. The puck drops at 6:35 p.m. Rockford hits the road for a three game weekend beginning in Flint against the Generals. The game is the first of the season between the two clubs and first of five overall including two in Flint.
Saturday, December 4 at Motor City Mechanics. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. The Hogs return to the Motor City to take on the Mechanics for the third time this season. Rockford will travel to Frasier, Michigan four times 2004-05.
Sunday, December 5 at Quad City Mallards. Game starts at 3:00 p.m. The IceHogs and Mallards renew their rivalry as they meet up at the MARK of the Quad Cities for the second time this season. The two teams have played four times already this season and the Hogs are 3-1-0 against their arch-rivals.

The show is hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T. Fans can meet, chat and ask questions about Hogs hockey to IceHogs Head Coach Steve Martinson and the IceHogs players at the show. This week Brent Sullivan, Michel Robinson and Eric Labelle will be at the Olympic Tavern.
