This year Hockey will be celebrated in a week long celebration known as 'Hockey Week Across America' From February 17th to February 24th.
"We are thrilled to expand Hockey Weekend Across America to a full week moving forward," said Pat Kelleher, executive director of USA Hockey. "Two years ago, we commemorated the 10th anniversary of Hockey Weekend Across America with a week-long format that was received extremely well and having an entire week provides further opportunity to do some fun and creative things to celebrate and advance the sport." via hockeyweekaccrossamerica.com
Each day during the week will have a different theme:
Feb 17th - Hockey Day in America
Feb 18th - Salute to Players
Feb 19th - Salute to Coaches
Feb 20th - Salute to Officials
Feb 21st - Salute to Local Rinks
Feb 22nd - Wear your Favorite Hockey Jersey Day
Feb 23rd - Try Hockey Day
Feb 24th - Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes day
This week was created in 2008 to engage the hockey community in celebrating the sport of hockey at all levels and exposing the sport to new audiences
