Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede hosts the Green Bay Gamblers for a two-game series at the PREMIER Center this weekend. The Herd hosts Hockey Talks Night on Friday as they bring awareness to mental health issues and suicide prevention. On Saturday, the team hosts Throwback Night with Stampede and Minnesota Wild alum Nate Prosser in attendance.
The Herd and Gamblers have not met since a series in Green Bay, Wisconsin on November 16 and 17, 2019. During this meeting, the Gamblers swept the Herd, taking game one 6-3 and game two 8-1.
This season, the Gamblers are 23-10-4-2 and hold 52 points and third place in the Eastern Conference of the USHL. The Gamblers top six point scorers all hold 30 to 38, compared to the Herd's top three all having at least 40 and top four holding at least 31. They come off a sweeping weekend against the Waterloo Black Hawks and Madison Capitols on Feb. 9 and 10, respectively.
On the Herd's side of the bench, the team is currently on a four-game losing streak that began on Feb. 2 against the Fargo Force. Of these four losses, three have come from matchups against the Force who holds first place in the Western Conference and the USHL. The Stampede has a total record of 21-19-3-1 this season and is 11-12-0-1 at home.
On Friday, the team will wear specialty warm-up jerseys supporting Fight Like A Ninja, a local organization dedicated to the education and awareness of mental health struggles and suicide prevention. The jerseys will be available on Dash Auctions for bidding until Feb. 20. All game-worn jerseys will be signed by the respective players and available at the Stampede office following the close of the auction.
Saturday's game has been dubbed as Throwback Night. The team will be wearing their 1999 themed alternate jerseys on the ice. Also on the schedule is an appearance from former Stampede player and Minnesota Wild alumni Nate Prosser. More information on Prosser's appearance will be available on social media later this week.
Following this weekend, the Stampede prepares for a four-week away-game stint starting with a trip to Waterloo, Iowa on Feb. 23. After this series, there are three remaining Stampede home games. Tickets for all of the Stampede's home season are available through the Stampede office, KELOLAND Box Office, and Ticketmaster outlets.
