Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Through a new partnership with DeSoto County Schools for 2013-14, hockey is helping schools in Northwest Mississippi.
Horn Lake High School raised $930 on November 26 through the Mississippi RiverKings and DeSoto County Schools' fundraising partnership. Students purchased tickets for $10 through the RiverKings and $5 of every ticket purchased went back to Horn Lake High School.
"This fundraiser helps to maintain that sense of community that the RiverKings promote," said Horn Lake High School Principal Andy Orr. "Not only that, but it also shows the kids and parents in DeSoto County another way they can get behind an organization like the RiverKings."
To participate in the DeSoto County Schools' fundraiser with the RiverKings, download the coupon form on any DeSoto County Schools' website, or go to riverkings.com/desotocountyschools. Once it's filled out, bring the coupon to the box office for a red-level ticket. The fundraiser runs the duration of the 2013-14 SPHL season.
