Calgary Hitmen News Release

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today announced the selection of Vojtech Husinecky in the 2022 CHL Import Draft.

The Hitmen used their first-round pick, 19th overall, on the defenceman from Czechia. Husinecky played with Tappara Tempere U18 for the 2021-22 season in Finland, finishing with 12 points (1G, 11A) in 31 games. Husinecky played on Team Czechia U17 and will be competing for a roster spot on Team Czechia U18 for the upcoming Hlinka Gretzky Cup Tournament in Red Deer, AB.

"We are excited to draft Vojtech and welcome him to our program," said Hitmen General Manager Jeff Chynoweth. "He can play in all situations and is a right-handed shot defenceman who we believe can complement our existing group of 17 and 18-year-old's."
