IDAHO FALLS, ID - Hunter Hisky knocked in six runs in the first three innings to lead the Idaho Falls Chukars (1-1) to an 11-6 victory over the Boise Hawks (1-1) on Thursday night at Melaleuca Field. All of the Chukars 11 runs came in the first three innings.

Matt Feinstein and Calvin Estrada singled against Victor Cole (L, 0-1) for the first hits of the night. Hisky stepped to the plate with one out and opened the scoring with a two-run triple that put Idaho Falls up 2-0. Andrew Don brought in two more runs on an RBI single, growing the lead 4-0. Hisky brought in another run on an RBI-single that made it 5-0.

The Chukars broke the game open in the third, beginning with Don reaching on a fielding error by Raymond Gil. With Don at third, Rick Phillips laid down a bunt, the throw from first baseman Jacob Cruce sailed past the catcher Jorge Guitierrez and scored Don, giving the Chukars a six-run advantage. Feinstein was intentionally walked, and Estrada reached on a fielder's choice to load up the bases against Cole. Hisky cleared the bases with his second RBI-triple of the game, chasing Cole from the game and giving Idaho Falls a 9-0 lead. Facing reliever Tyler Tomaka, Tyler Wyatt belted a two-run homer out to the left field videoboard that capped the scoring for the Chukars, making it 11-0.

Cushioned by the lead, Chukars starter Jake Binder (W, 1-0) struck out six over his first four innings, limiting Boise to two hits. Boise scored two against Binder on an double play that brought Haloa Dudoit home, and on a Tyler Jorgensen RBI single to chip away at the deficit, 11-2. Binder struck out Gil looking to earn his seventh strikeout and become the pitcher of record.

The Hawks tried to claw back against the Chukars, knocking in two more runs against reliever Nate Jenkins to make it 11-4 in the sixth. Gil singled to score Jorgenson in the seventh to make it a six-run ballgame, 11-5.

Boise's last run came on an RBI fielder's choice in the ninth against Alex Fishberg, which made it 11-6. Fishberg struck out Dudoit to end the game and hand the Chukars their first win in 2022.

The home portion of the series concludes tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. MST. Idaho Falls will start RHP Sam Kornstad, and the Hawks starter is TBD.
