On Sunday, May 5, members of the Stampeders family joined 700 hikers and 60 volunteers to walk in memory of their loved ones at the eighth annual Hike for Hospice.

The event raised more than $121,000 for the services Hospice Calgary provides for children, teens and adults coping with life-threatening illness, sudden or expected death.

Running back Rob Cote, who has been an ambassador for Hospice Calgary for six years, brought along teammate Matt Walter, members of the Outriders and Ralph the Dog to help support the cause.

"Rob Cote is a champion for Hospice Calgary," says Sarah Walker, Hospice Calgary's executive director. "Whether volunteering with our grief groups for children or speaking on our behalf, Rob demonstrates the best of the Stamps' community spirit."

"I would like to congratulate Hospice Calgary for another successful Hike and sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the fundraising total," said Cote. "It was a great day to support a great cause."

The Calgary Stampeders have been involved with Hospice Calgary since 2007 and are pleased to lend their continued support. Donations can be made anytime by calling Hospice Calgary at 403-263-4525.

Stampeders season tickets are on sale now for the 2013 season. For more information, visit Stampeders.com or call 403-289-0258 to speak with a customer service representative.
