Higuaín Named to MLS Team of the Week

Inter Miami CF forward Gonzalo Higuaín has been named to the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi for Week 32. Higuaín was named to the bench of the Team of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal over the weekend against D.C. United on Sept. 18, putting the Herons ahead and securing all three points with a strike in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Higuaín's incredible run of form has stretched back over the last thirteen games; the Argentine has scored ten times over this sterling run. Higuaín also scored the game-winning goal in Inter Miami's previous match, against the Columbus Crew.

Higuaín played the entire match against D.C. United, clinically took his goal-scoring chance in the 94th minute, led the team's offensive effort and provided a key pass in the final third.

The forward has been named to the Team of the Week several times previously this season, including in consecutive matchweeks; Higuaín featured on the team in Week 21, Week 23 where he was also voted MLS Player of the Week, and Week 31. Higuaín's Week 32 Team of the Week designation ties him with Damion Lowe for the team lead in 2022 Team of the Week appearances; both players have been selected to the MLS Team of the Week four times this season.

Inter Miami has had a player or coach represent the club in the Team of the Week in 16 different weeks of the 2022 MLS Regular season.
