SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to announce forward Matthew Highmore and goaltender Callum Booth have been named the student and player of the month, respectively, for February, 2017.

Matthew Highmore is the Swagelok Student of the Month.

The native of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, displays a strong work ethic, which drives his success. The 21-year-old sets goals for himself, and measures his success not based on what others are doing, but on what he wants to achieve for himself. He is an entrepreneur, running a successful business in the off-season. He knows what he needs to grow that business and knows what he needs to build a solid foundation for a successful career outside of hockey. Despite a heavy work load, Highmore is always the first one to lend a hand to a team mate or classmate who is struggling.

On the ice, Highmore posted four goals and nine points in ten games last month. He also celebrated his 21st birthday on Monday and agreed to a three-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks this week.

Booth is the Irving Oil Player of the Month.

The 19-year-old from Montreal finished last month with a 7-2 record, a 2.57 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage. Highlights included a 17-save shutout victory over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on February 4th, and 29 stops in a 2-1 victory in Charlottetown on February 14th.
